Think about it! . . .
Think a sad thought and your mood sinks. Your face droops. Your posture sags. Your body is a biofeedback machine. It eloquently tells the world when you are sad.

Think a fearful thought and your entire body tenses. You either freeze or prepare to fight or flee. Your muscles contract and so do the internal organs. You hold your breath. Without oxygen, cells die. Think an angry thought and -- well, you get the idea. Every moment you indulge fearful thoughts is a small death.

Foods are made of chemicals and foods are drugs, no less than any pharmaceutical or street drug. Every substance you put in your body affects your mental and physical well-being. Foods affect your ability to think clearly, your ability to be active and effective. They can soothe your mood up or irritate your body. Foods act as "uppers" and "downers"; stimulants and sedatives.

Eat a sugary meal on an empty stomach and notice how you feel. Foods can even be addictive. Sugar will set you up to crave salt. Salt will set you up to crave sugar. Eat like a yo-yo and you will feel like a yo-yo. Plus, those things that you are allergic to, you will crave. When your body is not healthy and happy, you can feel impatient and short-tempered.

Yes, foods are drugs. You can learn to use them well, to support the activities you engage in daily.

The thoughts you choose to think and the foods you choose to eat work together to support or undermine your physical, mental and emotional health.
